The late Countdown host Richard Whiteley left nearly �4m in his will to family, friends and his old school, probate papers have revealed. The presenter, who died last year aged 61, left the bulk of his estate to his son James Ebbetts Wilson, 19, and his long-term partner, Kathryn Apanowicz.
Other beneficiaries were former partner Jennifer Cropper, niece Georgina Stewart and Giggleswick School.
Whiteley died following heart surgery in June after a bout of pneumonia.
The papers, released by the District Probate office in Leeds, state that Whiteley left his stake in his home in Chiswick, west London, to his son.
His house in East Witton in the Yorkshire Dales was left to Ms Apanowicz.
Whiteley's son and partner will share the benefits of his pension scheme.
His flat in Leeds was left to Ms Cropper and a cottage in Masham, also in Yorkshire, to Ms Stewart.
The remainder of Whiteley's estate will be shared between his son and Giggleswick School.
