Spamalot won three Toby awards in June |
Monty Python's award-winning musical Spamalot is to open in London's West End later this year. The musical, written by Eric Idle and based on the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, opened on Broadway last year and won three Tony awards.
Spamalot, which will tour the US this year, will have its first performance at the Palace Theatre on 2 October.
Full details of the cast will be announced shortly. Ticket sales are due to begin on 21 February.
Spamalot features a chorus line of dancing divas and knights in the story of King Arthur and the knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail.
The musical has broken house records at the Shubert Theatre on Broadway, since it opened to critical acclaim in March 2005.
Director Mike Nichols won his eighth Tony Award for direction of the musical.
