Gale force winds and heavy rains have caused problems for drivers and left thousands of homes in Yorkshire without power on Saturday. Electricity company YEDL said that during Friday night 80,000 customers lost power in an area from Humber to the Scottish border.
On Saturday afternoon 20,000 homes in the Yorkshire and Humber region remained without electricity.
On the roads, dozen of heavy good vehicles were blown over.

North Yorkshire seems to have taken the brunt of the storms with the greatest number of power cuts occurring between Harrogate in the west and Scarborough in the east.
GNER trains services on the East Coast Main Line were affected when power cables were damaged between York and Northallerton
The roof of the Ebor stand at York racecourse was damaged by the wind and a toy fair and a car boot sale planned to take place at the course had to be cancelled.
In West Yorkshire, some flights at Leeds Bradford Airport were unable to take off on Saturday morning because of the strong winds.
West Yorkshire Police said that in the centre of Bradford roof tiles and broken windows were causing a hazard to pedestrians and warned that extra care should be taken.

A handful of houses had to be evacuated on Friday night in Otley and Ilkley after the River Wharfe broke its banks.
The A65 through the two towns was closed for a time because of flood water.
There were also problems for drivers on motorways in East Yorkshire, northern Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire.
The M18 northbound carriageway was closed for a time because of an overturned lorry between Thorne and the junction with the M62.
Weather forecasters said the winds were expected to ease during Saturday afternoon.
