The award is for the best list of champagnes on offer |
Three inns in North Yorkshire have been shortlisted for an award for the quality of the champagne they serve. The Angel at Hetton, the Star at Harome and the Yorke Arms at Ramsgill-in-Nidderdale are in line for the Trophee Gosset Celebris.
There are a total of 15 establishments on the shortlist for the award which is for the restaurant or pub which has the most diverse selection of champagne on offer.
A judging panel of wine writers, as well as the journalist Linda Lee-Potter, will announce the winner in September.
The Star is owned by Andrew and Jacquie Pern who bought it in 1996.
Jacquie said: "Lots of our guests come here for special occasions and we always suggest starting with a glass or two of champagne.
"If they are staying overnight we offer to put a bottle in their room to await their arrival and make their stay even more special."
