Residents on two housing estates in West Lancashire fear their homes could be demolished as part of regeneration plans for the area. The local council has told people on the Finton and Firbeck estates in Skelmersdale their homes could be left as they are or completely remodelled.
Hazel Scully, who chairs the campaign committee to save the Firbeck and Findon estates, said: "Leave us alone."
West Lancashire District Council says it will consult residents on plans.
The revamp will take place as part of a scheme to re-develop the town centre.
West Lancashire District Council says it is taking residents' views into account in the regeneration plans and if the Firbeck estate is remodelled or redeveloped the council says it will hold "full discussions" with tenants and owners.
Ms Scully said: "Leave us alone, restart the programme of doing up the houses and the flats, - painting, street cleaning, maintenance work and a little bit of environmental work - to take it back to what it was."
