Dead construction worker is named
A man who was fatally injured after apparently falling from scaffolding in Manchester has been named as Christopher Heaton, 26, from St Helens.

The Health and Safety Executive has been called in following the death.

Another man in his thirties is still being treated in hospital for serious head injuries after also falling.

The pair had been working on a development of 400 apartments on Bridge Street in Spinningfields on Thursday when the incident happened.

The injured man is being treated at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

All work on the Westcott Homes site has been suspended while the Health and Safety Executive carries out an investigation.
