The homes were designed for German students |
Tiny cube-style houses could provide the solution to London's lack of affordable housing if councils give them the green light. Designer of the Micro Compact House Richard Horden said he has already been in talks with several London boroughs about constructing them in the city.
The wood, aluminium and plastic cubes sell for 30,000, are 2.66m wide, and have flat screen TVs and broadband.
Mr Horden said they would make ideal temporary homes for key workers.
Fully furnished
"It's a very high quality product, it isn't like a caravan," he said.
"They were designed for student housing. We call them business class for students because they are small but good."
The houses have two levels and contain a bedroom with a double bed, kitchen, work and eating area, bathroom with toilet and shower and a spare bed.
They come fully furnished and can stand alone or can be stacked on top of each other.
A village of seven of the properties has been built for students in Munich.
