Rail disruption over bank holiday
Virgin train
Virgin services will not be running from London's Euston Station
Virgin train services in and out of Euston station are being cancelled over the May Bank Holiday period.

West Coast services will not run from the north London station between 29 May and 6 June because of engineering work to upgrade the routes.

Passengers are advised to use alternative train services provided by Midland Mainline, GNER and Chiltern Railway Company.

From 22 May to 28 May, and 7 June to 20 June services will also be limited.

Virgin Trains and Silverlink County services to and from Euston will operate a special timetable during this period, with reduced frequency and extended journey times.

We don't control the engineering work, but we do accept this work to upgrade the West Coast mainline is necessary
Virgin Trains spokesman

Between 29 May and 6 June, passengers to and from Manchester and the north-west, are advised to travel on Midland Mainline services to and from London St Pancras.

Those travelling between London and the West Midlands are advised to use Chiltern Railway Company services from London Marylebone.

Passengers wishing to travel to Scotland, should use the GNER service operating from London King's Cross.

A Virgin Trains spokesman said the disruptions were due to the upgrade of the West Coast mainline.

He said: "We don't control the engineering work, but we do accept this work to upgrade the West Coast mainline is necessary.

"There is never a good time to do it."
