Wind farm plans revealed
Wind turbine propeller
The turbines will stand about 100 metres high
Detailed proposals for 14 on shore wind turbines around Lincoln have been outlined.

Oil company Star Energy announced the plans on Tuesday.

Plans for a controversial gas storage facility north of Lincoln have also been confirmed.

But the news has met with opposition from local residents who say the developments would be an eyesore.

It says it needs the turbines to supply the power for operations at its Welton oilfield.

The local pressure group AGAST (Action Group Against Star's Turbine) says the planned turbines, standing about 100m high, will be taller than the highest point of Lincoln Cathedral.

Star Energy has now confirmed where it intends to base them.

Sudbrooke and Nettleham will get one each, with five south of Cold Hanworth near Welton, and seven north west of Stainton-by-Langworth.

A newsletter outlining the proposals will be sent to 15,000 homes in the area over the next 10 days.
