Fake weapons 'look real'
Fake gun
The fake guns are selling for as little as 2.50
Realistic looking toy guns being sold in a "bargain shop" in Leicester could be used in crime, police have warned.

They say 70% of armed robberies are carried out using imitation weapons.

The shop in question is legally selling a range of air pellet guns costing between 2.50 and 12.

Staff say they ask identification to ensure customers who buy them are over 14.

A shop assistant said the guns were selling quickly, with 500 sold in one Saturday.

Head of Weapons Training at Leicestershire Police, Sergeant Steve Orange, said manufacturers should be forced to make fake weapons look more obvious.
