Growth town school building plan
Housing development
Thousands of new homes are being built in Ashford
Plans to build a school within a development of 1,250 homes in Ashford will be discussed at a public meeting.

The town is expected to see 30,000 new homes built by 2030.

Kent County Council said people moving to Ashford needed an infrastructure and a school site had been identified at the Repton Park development.

Last year, a government watchdog criticised the Repton Park plans saying the area had been left without a supermarket and local school.

In June, the Sustainable Development Commission called for building projects in Ashford to include more facilities, more transport and further consideration of climate change and water supplies.

The public meeting is taking place on Wednesday night at Highworth Grammar School for Girls.
