The M20 in Kent is recovering from the effects of Operation Stack being put in place over a day and a half. The system that sees freight traffic parked on the motorway in a queue to reach the Port of Dover was lifted by Kent Police at 0530 GMT on Saturday.
The M20 was shut coastbound between junctions 11 and 12 throughout Thursday afternoon and all of Friday. Junctions eight and nine were also affected.
Cross-Channel ferry delays and French Eurotunnel strike action were to blame.
Thursday's bad weather in the South East saw many ferry sailings from Dover cancelled, while the industrial action in France led to train delays.
A Eurotunnel spokesman said on Friday night that the dispute had ended and services through the Channel Tunnel were returning to normal.
Lorry drivers parked on the M20 faced waits of more than four hours on Friday night.
