Swimming coach Trevor Collins has been named Unsung Hero of the Year at the BBC Sports Personality show. Mr Collins has done everything from helping to dig the pool to training future champions at West Wight Swimming Club on the Isle of Wight.
He combines administration with eight coaching sessions a week, while still holding down a full-time job.
Football referee Pierluigi Collina presented Trevor with his award live on stage at Television Centre.
Mr Collins, from Carisbrook, has been working voluntarily at the club for more than 25 years.
