Boost for free primary pupils bus
Every primary pupil in Devon who lives more than two miles from their local school could get free transport.

Councillors approved changing school transport rules. The move would benefit about 350 children and cost 100,000 if approved by the full council.

Currently children over eight who live between two and three miles from school in Devon do not get free transport.

Devon County Council's Executive Committee supported recommendations to back the proposal.

It would also mean free transport for siblings at the same school. At present, only one child can get free transport.
