Two couples whose weddings were stopped by police investigating sham marriages have been remanded in custody. The ceremonies at Dacorum Register Office, Hemel Hempstead, were raided by officers on Thursday.
Belinda Afriye, 27, Mustafa Yeboah, 47, Peter Adu, 31, and Dorin Thompson, 44, are charged with perjury and facilitating illegal entry into the UK.
Samuel Amoah, 39, and Joseph Amoah, 32 are due in court on Saturday, charged with facilitating illegal entry.
The four in court on Friday were remanded to appear at St Albans Crown Court 30 April.
Four other people arrested during Thursday's operation have been released on police bail.
Superintendent Jon House said the raids came after intelligence was gathered on alleged "sham marriages at the Hemel Hempstead Register Office".
