Tickets for the concert go on sale on Sunday |
It is a long way from a summer holiday for a group of people sleeping outside for four nights to get their hands on tickets for a Cliff Richard concert. The tickets for the concert next year go on sale on Sunday, but the Harrington family from Teesside decided to get there five days early.
Margaret Harrington, a fan for 44 years, is waiting outside the Arena in Newcastle with her friend and son.
She said the wait was worthwhile to secure the best seats.
Tickets for the Sir Cliff Richard Here and Now tour in November 2006 go on sale on Sunday.
Different styles
Ms Harrington, who is sleeping in her car with her son and friend, said: "I have been a fan for 44 years, since I was 12, when I first camped out at Stockton.
"As a devoted fan it is really important to get good seats and it is the only way to do it.
"We have done this many times, all over the country so we are used to it really. We have travelled as far as Thailand to see him.
"It is rough, but we think Cliff is worth it."
Her 24-year-old son, Con, said Sir Cliff appealed to everyone, even the young ones.
He said: "He appeals to all ages. He has done a lot of different styles over the years, and we have had a good laugh waiting here."
