Top Spot is about six teenage girls growing up in Margate

The movie, Top Spot, based on Emin's childhood in Margate, Kent, was granted a special licence by a London council to be screened to the group of girls.

It will be shown at the Birds Eye View Film Festival in London on Saturday.

The girls will then take part in a debate about the film. Emin was angered when the film given an 18 rating because of a suicide attempt scene.

'Hard-hitting account'

She called the decision by the British Board of Film Classification "outrageous" and withdrew the film from general release after its premiere.

However, Westminster Council granted a special screening licence for the film to be shown at the event.

The teenage girls were selected from London schools and will take part in the debate hosted by broadcaster Miranda Sawyer.

Festival director Rachel Millward said: "We are thrilled to have this opportunity to show this hard-hitting account.

"Finally, this film will be seen by the audience it is intended for and hopefully the discussions afterwards will reveal what the intended audience actually think."
