The service makes nearly one million service journeys a year |
Fewer people are complaining to the East Anglian Ambulance Service and more are giving thanks. Complaints have fallen for the fifth successive year and the service says it has received a record number of letters and e-mails of thanks.
The service makes nearly one million patient journeys a year, attending to twice the number of patients it did in 1999, said spokesman Matthew Ware.
Mr Ware said the messages show the service has made "tremendous progress".
The service received a record 546 letters or e-mails of thanks in the year compared to just 123 complaints.
Seamus Elliott, director of human resources, said: "Seven or eight years ago, complaints and commendations were quite evenly matched but ever since then the gap has been widening in favour of people saying thank you.
"It's the biggest compliment that can be paid to our staff that people take the time and trouble to offer their thanks in such large numbers."
