Mayor pledges nuisance clampdown
Martin Winter
Mayor Martin Winter says nuisance neighbours cause misery
The mayor of Doncaster has vowed to crack down on nuisance neighbours after the council evicted a troublemaker.

Lynn Platts, of Marlborough Road, Thorne, was evicted after "a catalogue of irritation for her long-suffering neighbours", Doncaster Council said.

Residents were subjected to fighting, foul language, loud music and threats to their property by visitors.

Doncaster's elected mayor, Martin Winters, said: "I am committed to putting a stop to such nuisances.

"This eviction is the latest action in a long line of measures which have been taken by the anti-social behaviour team to tackle nuisance neighbours.

"In this case the complaints were so severe that eviction was the only answer.

"The team will continue to target anti-social behaviour in order to protect decent communities and tackle the minority of people who make other people's lives a misery."
