More prayer vigils are being held across the Lichfield Diocese as the war in Iraq intensifies. Church officials are placing details of all the services and prayer events on their official website.
Church leaders across the Christian denominations in Shropshire set Sunday as a special day of prayer for peace.
And the Bishop of Lichfield, the Right Reverend Keith Sutton, has urged all churches within the diocese to follow suit.
He led a peace vigil at Lichfield Cathedral on Sunday.
A Peace Candle has burned daily in the cathedral, and this will continue to burn as long as the present crisis in the Gulf continues.
