| Friday, 3 January, 2003, 15:06 GMT Bus fares cut to attract passengers ![]() Fares for pensioners and children will be 15p Bus fares in Beverley are being more than halved in a bid to attract extra passengers. From Sunday, Acklam's Coaches and East Yorkshire Motor Services (EYMS) will charge a 30p flat fare for any journey within the town. EYMPS usually charges 65p The experiment is being funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. Nigel Rowe from the council said they want to see if cutting fares will put "more bottoms on seats".
