How different areas performed
There are wide variations in the performance of different areas of England in their schools' exam results.

The table below shows the 148 mainland local authorities ranked on the basis of their schools' achievements in the proportion of students achieving the Level 2 threshold - equivalent to at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C - including English and maths GCSEs (the EM column).

Other columns show the average point score (APS) at this level, contextual value added (CVA) measure and the proportion of half-day sessions lost due to unauthorised absence.

Click the name of an authority to see the results for all its schools.
